The price causes less people to buy and having less people buying causes software company to have less incentive to develop their software for that platform. There are various factors as to why at the moment they cannot dominate the market. Although their hardware is good, it is not as brilliant as some may suspect. I am a software developer, and Macs are still not highly regarded for various reasons. I haven't found any advantage to them other than their sweet design. Some art students are actually required to buy a Mac to work on, and I think that's completely unneccessary unless their PC is a dinosaur. The only difference I notice is that my personal machine isn't as young as it used to be. I do, however, resent the assertion that good graphics can only be done on a Mac. If it weren't for the interface, the ridiculous price (I know the Mini is a deal, but it wouldn't be powerful enough for me), and that one stinking mouse button, Macs and I might get along better. And why do the plugs have to shoot off those alarming sparks when you stick them into the PSU? They're also quiet, but some of them have an awful problem where the fans will come on full force when they're not supposed to, and it sounds like a miniature jet plane is taking off in the room. The inside of the G5, however, is amazingly clean. I can barely drag one across the floor, even though I have no problem with most other PCs.

I do not understand why the G5s have to be so heavy, either. The interface bugs me quite a bit, even though it is much prettier than the Explorer shell.
